Clover student elected state FFA president
Flint Holbrook, a rising senior at Clover High School where he has been serving as an FFA chapter officer, was elected president of the South Carolina FFA Association during the recent State FFA Convention held at Clemson University, according to John W. Parris, state director of public affairs with the SCFFA organization.
Holbrook, a recognized expert in the production of biodiesel fuel, has addressed agricultural and environmental conferences in South Carolina and Georgia on the production and use of biodiesel fuel. He has been featured on the National RFD-TV Satellite Network which reaches more than 37 million homes.
Currently serving as a consultant to the Out-of-the Box Video Production Co. in Charlotte, Holbrook recently prepared a DVD on the construction of biodiesel fuel production equipment which is being marketed nationwide. He is also serving as the youth advisor to the Clemson University Biosystems Technology Curriculum Development Committee.
Holbrook is the son of K. Flint and Beverly Holbrook of Clover. His FFA advisor is Carrie C. Bolin, agricultural science instructor at Clover High.
The FFA organization, originally known as the Future Farmers of America, is a national organization of 500,000 members in more than 7,500 chapters located in every state, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
