Churches unite for community event

Lake Wylie Pilot

LAKE WYLIE -- A special evangelistic event for residents and neighbors in and surrounding the Oakridge Community in Lake Wylie will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. July 12 in an open field along Oakridge Road.

The event is coordinated by the Rev. Wanalyn Barnette, an associate minister of Liberty Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Lake Wylie. The theme is REACH -- Receive all into the family of God; Educate unbelievers in the way of the Lord, Always show love and compassion; Christ-like attitudes everywhere we go; and Help those in need.

The event is free and will include free food, games, give-a-ways and crafts. Contributing sponsors are Carolina Panther Thomas Davis and Piedmont Medical Center.

The churches participating are Liberty Hill A.M.E. Zion Church, Lake Wylie; China Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Rock Hill; Zoah A.M.E. Zion Church; News Loves Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Lake Wylie; New Home A.M.E. Zion Church, York; and Clover A.M.E. Zion Church.
