Midlands Striper Club held its first monthly tournament of the year Jan. 21 out of Spinners Resort on Lake Murray.
A new series to decide a king of Lake Wylie bass fishing begins Jan. 28 with the weigh in at 3 p.m. at Buster Boyd Access Area.

The Midlands Striper Club held its final tournament of the year Dec. 17 on Lake Murray, with the weigh-in at Spinners Resort.
Midland Striper Club's November tournament was enjoyed by 39 anglers fishing 16 teams. Although the weather was near freezing when the tournament started, the fish did not seem to mind, said tournament organizer Shawn Gearhart.
Angler Julie Griffin of Clover reeled in three fish Oct. 15 during the Midlands Striper Club tournament on Lake Murray for second place.
Saturday’s chilly, rainy morning giving way to cool temperatures and gusty winds under blue skies didn’t keep fish from biting on Lake Wylie during the annual 28th CS Motorsports Fall Classic fishing tournament.
The Catawba Catfish Club held its second tournament of the 2011-2012 season Oct. 22 on Lake Wylie with 19 boats and 41 paying anglers competing for a pot of $820 and a big fish pot of $170.
