    Lake Norman presented a good challenge Aug. 12-14 at the halfway point of the season on the PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix.

  • Tega Cay Angler’s Club holding tourneys, no meeting June 22

    Tega Cay Angler’s Club will host a Kids Tournament for children up to age 12 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 19 at Windjammer Park. All children must be supervised by an adult.   • Children’s fishing tournament June 19 at Tega Cay

    The tournament will consist of an hour and a half fishing for bluegill, catfish and other species with multiple prizes awarded in each age category. There will be TCAC members on site to help with registration, baiting hooks and fishing technique, and handing out drinks and snacks. Where: Windjammer Park, Tega Cay.

  • Auten, Bolton Tied for Lead at FLW Tour's Chevy Open on Lake Ouachita

    After an hour-and-a-half fog delay Wednesday morning, anglers hit the water for the FLW Tour's Chevy Open. Later that afternoon, Todd Auten of Lake Wylie, S.C., and Terry Bolton of Jonesboro, Ark., both crossed the stage with five-bass limits weighing 18 pounds, 1 ounce to lead day one on Lake Ouachita. They now hold a six-ounce lead over pro Scott Suggs of Bryant, Ark., with five bass weighing 17-11 in a tournament featuring anglers from all across the country.

  • CATT wraps up on Wylie

    It was windy from start to finish but most of the teams toughed it out and said the bass were biting really well just not the size needed to win.

  • Bass Fishing League Piedmont Division to host Saturday event in Salisbury, NC

    The FLW Bass Fishing League is headed to High Rock Lake Saturday, May 15, for the third of five stops in the Piedmont Division series. As many as 400 boaters and co-anglers will be competing for top awards of up to $8,000 and $3,000, respectively.

  • CATT Classic Saturday

    Carolina Angler's Team Trail 2010 Classic starts Saturday, May 15, at Dreher Island. Registration begins at 4 a.m. Blastoff is at safe daylight. Flights will be in groups of 40 with the first flight coming back at 3 p.m. For more information, visit www.carolinaanglersteamtrail.com.

  • CATT Final Saturday on Wylie

    Tim Chapman of Kings Mountain, N.C., and Eddie Smith of Gastonia took home first place April 17 with a total weight of 17 pounds, 6 ounces, plus the bonus money for a total of $685.

  • Browne Wins FLW Tour Event on Fort Loudoun/Tellico Lakes

    Glenn Browne of Ocala, Fla., caught a five-bass limit weighing 12 pounds even Saturday to win $125,000 at the FLW Tour event presented by Folgers on Fort Loudoun/Tellico lakes with a four-day catch of 20 bass weighing 59-13.

    The catch gave him the win by a solid 4-pound even margin over Goodwill pro Chad Grigsby of Maple Grove, Minn., who caught a total of 19 bass weighing 55-13 and earned $37,197.

  • Next CATT qualifer April 17 Lake Wylie; Final fund growing

    We are up to 59 teams who are eligible to enter the 2010 Carolina Angler’s Team Trail Lake Wylie Spring Final on May 8, and by then we should have more than $2,200 in the Wylie Final Fund. The May 8 Final should be another good payday for the Wylie CATT anglers.
