Letters to the Editor

  • Visit Lake Wylie

Recent magazine article missed the boat not mentioning Lake Wylie as a great lake.

  • Come on, support rescue squad

I used to be a supporter of Piedmont Medical Center. Many people I know have criticized the care they received while a patient there, and I defended the hospital because of the care I received. Well, I can no longer defend them.

  • Lakeside West looking good

Kudos to the folks who are building the new QT gas station and convenience store.

  • Noisy neighbors

Regarding Molly Brown’s Letter to the Editor [published April 3 in the Lake Wylie Pilot] about airplane noise. I completely agree, the airplane noise over the 49 corridor of Lake Wylie is constantly horrific.

  • $200K too much

Dear county councilmen and specifically Bruce Henderson, $200K for a historic schoolhouse renovation?

  • Give the squads back their territory

The York County Council has proposed a ridiculous plan to settle the local “Ambulance Wars.” It demonstrates a very shallow consideration of the problem, a bias in favor of Piedmont Medical Center, political cowardice, and an unwillingness to invest the mental rigor necessary to resolve the issue fairly. Their masterful plan is the equivalent of putting the late John Candy in charge of the Twinkies.

  • ObamaCare wrong

In most states, owners/operators of most motorized vehicles driven on our public roads and highways are required to maintain liability insurance.

  • Noisy planes

I am writing to ask if you have had any complaints from area residents about the loud and low aircraft taking off and landing from the airport directly over Lake Wylie.

  • A toll at the poll

I was wondering if it is possible to print the names of our representatives, be it local, national and statewide, who are for and against the toll road, so we can spread the word, be it positive or negative, and so we can see that we vote accordingly during the next elections.

  • Too late for Newt?

Election 2012 has a comparable election of 1976. Gerald Ford, who was appointed president via President Nixon’s White House corruption, was up for (re)election. A GOP Presidential GOP candidate named Ronald Reagan was challenging Gerald Ford’s re-election. Ronald Reagan won its first GOP Primary in North Carolina. The then-elite Republicans rejected Ronald Reagan by standing by Gerald Ford who ended up losing the General Election to Jimmy Carter.
