Miracles do happen.
I know this is a little late, but I want to say thank you for an act of kindness one of our brave young service men did for me during Christmas.
I am a man who has been on Lake Wylie all my life, and I think I know a lot of wonderful people.
Since the kind person who left cat food on my deck didn’t leave a note or card, I wanted to publicly thank the individual(s). It’s been rare, but always, always appreciated when anyone is thoughtful enough to offer help in whatever way they can as I go into my ninth year caring for more than 20 cats. I do not expect the help and find myself delightfully surprised and thankful for any gesture of care. Thank you wonderful person (people) whoever you are for helping me by donating food. The cats are extremely appreciative and more than anything else, my heart feels yours. The world just had one more good example, and that’s what powers love. Most sincerely, Carol Butler of Lake Wylie works with Friends of Feral Felines and Animal Adoption League
Since October, Clover Area Assistance Center has experienced client growth unheralded in our last 10 years, and the numbers continue to increase.
We live in such a small (but fast-growing) non-existent place – Lake Wylie. I have been involved in fundraising here since the early 1990s. Everything from Christmas presents for a few underprivileged children to as many as 14 families. Myself and many, many residents of Lake Wylie have band together in these last years to make the fundraising a tremendous success.
Spotlight an act of kindness in our community: Do you have a neighbor who is always there for you? Do you know a child doing something that deserves recognition? Want to say thank you to someone for something they did for you? The Lake Wylie Pilot publishes 'More than words ..." to highlight the good deeds Lake Wylie area children and adults do in our community. We welcome your letters, and accompanying photos if possible, about why this person deserves applause. It can be big or simply a thank you, perhaps even thanking a stranger, who may have done an act of kindness. Be sure to include your name, city and contact number with your submission to news@lakewyliepilot.com.
I called Christopers Bar & Grill on Tuesday, April 7, to place a catering order for 35 to 50 guests. I received a call from Marcio, and we discussed our order. He said he would call me back with the price. When he phoned me back, I let him know the time. I would need to pick up the food and told him it was for the Holt family, before the funeral, for their son Hunter Holt.
The Clover Choraliers extend our deepest thanks to the many patrons who participated in the Choraliers Toy Drive during our Holiday Concert series on Dec. 10, 12 and 13.
For a while now I've been meaning to contact the pilot about the woman that grooms my two aging pups. I've always considered myself an "animal person" but she is above and beyond that... and now I feel that her kindness and generosity toward those without voices needs to be brought to light.
