    Soccer Registration: Soccer registration is under way for children ages 3-17 through Saturday, Feb. 20. You don’t have to live in Lake Wylie to play.The season runs from mid-March to mid-May. Registration will be extended for seventh and eighth graders trying out for school ball. If they don’t make the team, they can still play with LWAA. To register online, visit eteamz.com/lwaasoccer. There is a small processing fee to register online, or download a copy of the registration form and follow the instructions. Confirmation of receipt will be e-mailed to you. If you don’t receive confirmation within a week, e-mail . If you are interested in head coaching or assisting, fill out the background check form.

  • Oakridge Middle basketball teams fall in finales

    The Golden Eagles lost each of the first two quarters by 8 points apiece and found themselves in a deep hole at halftime, trailing 28 to 12. Coming out after the intermission, Fort Mill was whistled for technical foul, and Alex Thompson knocked down 2 free throws to cut into the 16-point deficit.

  • Oakridge Middle 8th-graders take game to finals

    All games begin at 6:15 p.m. Boy’s head coach is Dan Kozlowski. Girl’s head coach is Donald Pitts. Cheerleading coach is Lori Good.

  • Trail running series coming to Charlotte

    Expecting to draw from throughout the Charlotte area and Southeast region, the River Bound Race Series will build in distance throughout the Spring and Summer of 2010 culminating in a half marathon at the end of September. Race proceeds will support North Carolina Outward Bound’s Charlotte programs, including the Unity Project and scholarship assistance for youth, educators, and military veterans attending wilderness courses in the North Carolina mountains.
