On March 9, the Oakridge Middle School Girl’s Soccer team took on Gold Hill Middle. The Oakridge girls ran hard and played hard. Jade Lambert had amazing stops at goal and Laila Rojas was aggressive and a fireball on the field. Morghan Davidson also did a great job defending. The Oakridge girls lost a well-played match against Gold Hill, 4-0.
York County Pop Warner: A new association from Clover will be playing this year in Pop Warner. The Clover association is projected to have five teams, and Lake Wylie will play them during the regular season. We are hoping to have a Junior Midget team with players combined from both areas. The Junior Midgets will play under Lake Wylie and players will be 12 years old and weigh less than 135 pounds, and 13 years old weighing less than 115.

The Golden Eagles lost each of the first two quarters by 8 points apiece and found themselves in a deep hole at halftime, trailing 28 to 12. Coming out after the intermission, Fort Mill was whistled for technical foul, and Alex Thompson knocked down 2 free throws to cut into the 16-point deficit.
